United Way Sends Thanks from Street Corners

A local organization could not say thank you enough--so it's members hit the streets to get it off their chest. The United Way Thank-a-Thon sent accolades to the community right from the side of the road.

United Way says past years' donors, volunteers and partners deserve appreciation for their contributions. Nelson Matabhik, with the Big Bend United Way said, "We're out here thanking everybody because it's important not to just thank them at the point of supporting United Way, but to thank them year around. We really appreciate their support and we want to make sure that they feel thanked."

The organization says the funds raised for the United Way go straight back into community programs throughout the Big Bend.
