Hundreds of Batman fans stayed up as late as their super hero to catch a first glimpse of their Dark Knight. However, Batman wasn't all the talk in Tallahassee. His nemesis, the Joker, took over the lime light so much that people wanted to be just like the twisted clown villain.
The character was played by Heath Ledger who died this past January when authorities say he accidentally overdosed on a mixture of prescription drugs. His final performance as the joker was the most anticipated.
"I've heard that it's his best performance ever and they said that actually playing the role itself affected him maybe to get to the point that he did." said Eyyup Hascicek at the mid-night premier.
Another late night movie goer, Sam Slowinski said, "I think the character is a lot more intricate than Batman himself. Even though he's the hero, I think that the Joker definitely, his personality, overshadowed."
With several premier showings around town--most were sold out. And although everyone bought tickets in advance, some people waited four hours in line to get a good seat.
