Local businessman Stephen Harrison is trying to help our furry friends overseas. Operation: Furry Soldiers is aimed to recognize soldiers of the 67th Specialized Search Dog Platoon, Canine Company of the U.S. Army.

Furry Soldiers has been created to support soldiers and their dogs. All soldiers have general items that they need but rarely do people think about the many dogs that complete the canine units.

There are many ways you can help. You can donate money to the spare change collection, adopt a soldier as an individual, or adopt a soldier as a company. Care packages can also be sent directly to the animals.

Dog toys that are needed include rope, canvas toys, squeaky toys, soft Frisbees, and tennis balls. But please, no treats.

If you are interested in creating a care package, contact Stephen Harrison at stephenharrison@sevatechnologies.com
