Dozens of Tallahassee residents joined in on the 25th Night Out Against Crime, but they weren't the only ones. As Florida's Capital City signified unity against crime, so did hundreds of other communities throughout Florida and the entire country.
Tallahassee Crime Prevention says the event educates the public about anti-crime programs and promotes drug prevention in a fun environment for both police and citizens. Ryan Dunphy, a TPD Crime Prevention Officer said, "The police department is united with the communities and the neighbors and the people of Tallahassee and that's just to show the criminals that if they're thinking about hitting something in Tallahassee--we're going to be watching."
The National Night Out in downtown Tallahassee started at six o'clock Tuesday evening and ended with a flashlight walk all through downtown at 8:30 p.m.
