Tallahassee Soldier to Be Put to Rest

The family of a Tallahassee soldier has planned a funeral for the 22 year old who was found dead in his Ft. Hood barracks. Private First Class Travis Dowdwas a former Chiles student and last week he failed to report to formation at the Texas base. When another soldier went to check on him--he was dead.

There have been three deaths at Ft. Hood in recent weeks and Dowd's is one of two still under investigation. Dowd's funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Culley's Funeral Home Chapel on Timberlane Road. Condolences can be sent to Tammy Cone at Chiles High School.
