Drinking Age Debate

It's been debated for decades and now one hundred colleges are posing the question again--should the drinking age be 18? The group called "Amethyst Initiative" suggests 21 might not be working because of an increase in binge drinking cases near college campuses.

Local universities are currently not on board, but they do have education programs in place to curb excessive drinking. Florida State says drinking is sometimes affected by the local culture and there are multiple ways of dealing with it.

Chris Franzetti, with FSU's Health Promotion said, "You address the individual, you address the campus as a whole, but you also address the surrounding community. Whether that be the local town or city you live in, the state, and obviously national influences."

The drinking age should be raised instead of lowered. Maybe to 85 where there will be less drunks on our roads.
