Tallahassee Hospitals Prepared for Fay

Hospitals plan year round for bad weather. And because they stay open all year long--rain or shine--they are certainly ready for Fay.

Both the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and the Capital Regional Medical Center say they expect to have more visits after the storm because that's when residents go outside to clear tree limbs or drive to get more groceries. Local hospitals advise people to be careful.

Reda Lyon, with the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital said, "We took an early delivery yesterday just to be on the safe side and made sure that we have our staffing plans in place and that our staff are safe when they are coming to work and leaving, etc."

Dale Neely, with Capital Regional Medical Center said "We've been participating in all the conference calls, the emergency management conference calls with Leon County. We've set up our command center and we'll activate that if we feel the threat is eminent."

Hospitals advise--if anyone needs emergency medical treatment, call 911 to be transported to the hospital.
