Actor Kal Penn Visits FSU

A small room in FSU's Olglesby Union was short on chairs for a group of students who came see Kal Penn as Kal Penn. Otherwise, they might have only known him as Kumar from "Herald and Kumar Go to Whitecastle." Or, as a terrorist in the hit TV show, "24." Regardless, his hollywood career was not the main attraction Sunday afternoon, but rather what he had to say about Barrack Obama and the right for everyone to vote, especially young people.

"We have friends in Iraq, parents have lost jobs, we don't have health care and school is really expensive, if we can even afford it at all. So what you're seeing is: college students want change, they want to vote--whether they're democrats or republicans--they're really coming together to make sure that they're fairly registered and their votes are going to count. And I think that's a remarkable thing to see." said Penn.

This is Penn's summer vacation and he says he will get back to work soon--but hopes to balance that with more campaigning until the November election.
