It was the roast of one of WCTV's own, Gary Yordon, from WCTV's The Usual Suspects. But it was all in good fun and all for scholarships. The Florida Public Relations Association says it has held their roast for eleven years now.
Thursday night at FSU's University Club, the fundraiser helped provide scholarships for communication students at FSU and FAMU. Yordon says over the years he has worked up a lot of material to be roasted and he's happy to do it.
"It helps the scholarship funds, which are great, so you got to love that part of it. And we'll see what happens, I mean, how bad could it be?" said Yordon.
Thursday, the Florida PR Association also named Roosevelt Wilson, publisher of the Capital Outlook, communicator of the year.
