FEMA Urging Residents to Seek Fay Relief

FEMA is urging Fay victims to register if they took on damage from the storm. As of Tuesday, the FEMA disaster recovery center at the LeRoy Collins Library had 380 Leon County residents and 55 Wakulla residents registered.

FEMA says it can provide grants for damage to someone's primary residence or even their personal property. In addition, FEMA has partnered up with other agencies to help small businesses.

Joe Gagnon, with FEMA said, "This is why we're here in these centers--to direct them. To show them the way. To answer their questions so that they understand what's available to them and how they go about to apply."

So far, FEMA says it has distributed over eight million dollars to counties in our area. To find out how to register--call 1-800-621-FEMA.

The total registrations for all 10 Florida counties declared for individual assistance: 10,553
Registrations for Leon County: 380
Registrations for Wakulla County: 55
Dollars disbursed for individuals and households for all 10 counties: $8,438,075.10
