The general election is getting underway. The local supervisor of elections just sent out twelve thousand absentee ballots. The Leon County Supervisor of Elections pulled into the post office on south Adams street before 2:00 Friday afternoon. The ballots are in addition to one thousand ballots already sent.

The Supervisor of Elections, Ion Sancho, says the county could see over 100-thousand voters turn out for the early election . "These absentee ballots are the absentee ballots requested by Leon Countians who are requesting them in town, out of town, from Alaska. We have at least one ballot here going to Hawaii."

The general election is only 50 days away and the Supervisor of Elections says absentees have until October 29th to request a ballot.
