Obama Social Security Forum

At the Obama Campaign for Change office in Tallahassee, commissioner Allan Katz discussed the issue of Social Security with residents. He says McCain's policy of privatizing health care is not the answer.

Katz supports Obama's argument against McCain that privatization would cut benefits, cost more money, and would gamble retirement plans on the stock market.

Allan Katz says he has been campaigning for Obama since 2007, but the next few weeks will be more important than ever. "The folks here who are living on Social Security and their own private retirements are very concerned about it, and particularly so, when you're coming out of an administration that wanted to privatize social security and you have a candidate who wants to do it again." said Katz.

How could you say privatization is not the answer? Look at Canada and other places with socialized medicine. As a matter of fact, you don't have to look any further than our own government run VA hospitals. My husband was in the Navy, and several years ago he suffered an aortic aneurysm. He has often said that if it had happened while he was still in the Navy, he would have died.
