For all her hard work, Marsha Morrison has been awarded the local Military Officers Association Person of the Year. Not only has she been sending packages for two years, she has been sending 25 a month for two years with things such as games, snacks, cigars, and more. Morrison was honored Wednesday night at the Silver Slipper.
"I think everybody wants to do something, they just don't know what to do and this is just an easy way--it's simple. It's something that a person can do, an organization can do. If you have a group, it's easier to get a group together and have them pack boxes and send them." said Morrison.
The packages sent each month are huge morale boosters for the troops. Morrison says she has even sent whoopee cushions.
