The Capital Chapter Community Action Agency says in recent weeks it has seen between 40 and 45 people a day in need of utility assistance. However--agency workers say their funds are being spread thin and there is not enough to go around.
Cynthia Valencic, with the Capital Chapter Community Action Agency said, "Ultimately, you're going to run out of those funds and the need is still out there, people are still coming to the agency looking for assistance and we may or may not be able to assist them, so we do try to refer them out , but some time the referral agencies are out of funding."
