Friday night, the University Club at FSU is doing its part for the ClubCorp Charity Classic: Celebrating a Legacy. While local members wined and dined at the University Club--25,000 members at other clubs around the nation are expected to do the same--raising money for the MDA, ClubCorp Employee Partner Care Foundation and an FSU University Club Scholarship Fund.

Tracy Marple, the University Club General Manager said, "Last year, we raised $17,000 and that was split between four charities, so a little over $7,000 dollars of that, just from our club, went to MDA."

Charity coordinators say 1.9 million dollars was raised last year around the country as a whole.
