They say it's tough work being a judge--which is why the Tallahassee Women Lawyers honored them Wednesday night. T.W.L. is an organization to promote the status of women in the legal community and establish a network of women in the legal profession. The organization's president says they are currently about 170 members strong.
Wednesday night's 26th annual event for the judiciary kicked off at 7:30 p.m. and featured local judges and honored guests such as Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and many others.
Kim Driggers is an attorney in Tallahassee, but she is also President of Tallahassee Women Lawyers. She said, "It was a good venue to get together to get to know judges on a more one on one basis. To see them in a different light rather than in their black robes in the court room. So the purpose is just to get to know them on a different level."
