We could very well know by Friday--however there's also a chance the state of Florida could mandate a recount. At a Leon County canvassing board meeting Wednesday night, the Supervisor of Elections said Boulware and Vasilinda are separated by only .5187%. That's more than the half of a percent required for a recount--however the county has an additional 354 provisional and unscanned ballots to analyze.
Ion Sancho, the Supervisor of Elections said, "These ballots have not been examines or tabulated in any manner, so we do not know what 354 may or may not do and that's why we have provided this additional analysis on this spreadsheet."
We've heard that a majority of the 354 ballots are provisional votes, which means they have been called in to question for several reasons and some might not count. By Friday, there will either be an official winner of the Florida House District Nine race or there will be a recount. Currently--Michelle Rehwinkle Vasilinda is the unofficial lead. Both candidates say they will just wait and see what happens.
