Students are listened to the voices of the homeless Thursday night, hearing what they had to say about life on the streets. Several organizations at Florida State University organized this student forum called "Defense of the Homeless."

A keynote presentation from Americorps featured the Tallahassee Homeless Speakers Bureau. The Bureau says its mission is to dispel the misconceptions of homelessness by putting a face on the issue through real life stories.

John Marvel, the event coordinator said, "Right now, actually, with the election that happened, a lot of people are really motivated to get things done and this is an issue, considering we are leading the country in crimes against the homeless, that we can tackle and you know, we as students can get involved in."
