The USPS says Thursday is the deadline for Parcel Post. After that, all care packages will have to be sent priority mail to guarantee delivery before the holidays. With more than 80 military installations around the globe--post office officials want to make sure everything being sent gets where it needs to go.

In Tallahassee--post office workers say this is something they try to prepare for every year. Brenda Johstono, a retail specialist with the USPS said, "It's rushed, but you know, we all work together. We have more people that are hired of course. we have lobby directors that are out and about to help people out. We just all come together."

Since these packages are going to the men and women who are fighting for us and defending our freedom, why can the US postal service not let the family and friends send Christmas pkgs exempt from paying postage. It seems only right for what our troops are giving up for us?
