Schools Where the Air is Clean

This special report shows that schools in our viewing area have higher quality air than many schools across the country. For example, when we look at Leon County Schools--the study shows all of them in the 61rst percentile and higher...

Which is good because the schools in a lower percentile have worse air quality. The top five schools in Leon County were John Paul Catholic School, Florida State University High School, Woodville Elementary, Chaires Elementary, and Oak Ridge Elementary.

Superintendent Jackie Pons says this shows how even the environment plays a factor in education quality. "I look forward to getting this information and looking at it and try to look at some of the information provided to see if we have any schools that we can improve upon and want to do that also." said Pons.

The study by USA Today and the University of Massachusetts looked at more than 127-thousand schools. If you want to see how your school fares, you can find a convenient link to search the school of your choice by clicking the link below.
