They made the drive down to Orlando for the championship... some for a third consecutive year. But the fans set out to do something different this year.
Nelson Lunn, grandfather of two boys in the NFC line up said, "We'd like to take home a little bit of the bacon back to the capital city. Hell, they deserve it up there."
Grandparents, parents and students alike say the third time is a charm. Andrea Ledford, an NFC Mom said, "They have worked very hard. Didn't know if we'd make it back again this year and we did. They've worked hard for it and I'm very proud, very proud."
Jessica and Hayley, two NFC Seniors painted even their own t-shirt with, "Third time is a charm." And when you talk about the weather, it was chilly, but not too cold for some. One group of wild students went without shirts and painted letters on themselves spelling their favorite player.
With this being the holiday season, the fans are festive enough and the team is good enough to make this an NFC Championship holiday each year.
At last year's championship, NFC lost to American Heritage 31 to 28 and the year before that--a loss to Glades Day 42 to 9. And that makes this third time--truly a charm.
