Wednesday, Hoffman would have turned 24 years old. The Hoffman family attorney gave notice to sue the city nearly six months ago. Lance Block says he recently received a letter from the city attorney indicating an early dispute resolution.
Block says he is willing to sit down with the city. "That's a separate issue. We're going to file our lawsuit on December 30th, which is when the six month period ends. We're going to file our lawsuit, we're not going to delay for any reason at all." said Block.
Hoffman--who's birthday was remembered by many friends in Tampa and on facebook--was killed back in May of this year.
