Thursday night, America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend took donations at the Comedy Zone in exchange for some laughs. The show featured comedians Jim Holder and Josh Phillips.

Second Harvest said $15 of every ticket sold Thursday night went to the charity, which it says will help during some tough times. Cheryl Phoenix, Executive Director of America's Second Harvest of the Big Bend said, "We know the numbers are going to increase. We're having a lot of people calling, they just got laid off or just got their homes repossessed and so we're trying to do what ever we can to help feed them."

Thursday night's goal was $2000 and each year, America's Second Harvest says it depends on fund raisers like this to distribute food.
