A Tallahassee organization has been honored for fighting drugs in the community for nearly two decades.
Mayor John Marks proclaimed this week as 'Unity in the Community' Week.
For 17 years, the Tallahassee Urban League has campaigned to fight drugs among children in the area.
The League has hosted youth clubs, after-school programs and festivals to show kids that drugs can destroy their dreams.
But, city leaders admit there's more work to do.
Mayor of Tallahassee John Marks says, "I think we can expect, unfortunately with this downturn in the economy, that we might see an increase in activity like this. So we have to be very vigilant in terms of making sure that we address the issues that impact this segment of the community."
The Tallahassee Urban League is holding a Unity in the Community Festival this Saturday from 11 to 4 at Tallahassee's Kleman Plaza.
