The Council of Neighborhood Associations held a town hall meeting featuring Tallahassee's safety operations, the police chief, the fire chief and the Leon County Sheriff. The group answered questions from people at the main Leon County Library and made recommendations on how to handle certain situations including extreme weather and crime.
Neighborhood leaders say they hope others will become more involved.
Bradford Lewis with the Lafayette Homeowner's Association said, "If folks would kind of take the time to attend some of these meetings and learn more about the city of Tallahassee, they'd find out that there are a lot of great programs, a lot of great opportunities to learn and usually your problem can be solved through a little more participation I guess."
