Raa Middle School's Phyllis Jakes and Leon High's Anna Jacobs were among 150 students from around the world chosen to watch the world games. Special Olympics Leon County says it was a part of a global youth summit to learn about people with intellectual disabilities.
Now, the girls say they will share what they've learned with their fellow students. "I want to tell them that if you get an opportunity like this--take it. Take full advantage of it because this is a once in a lifetime thing. I will not ever regret it for anything in the world. It was absolutely amazing." said Jacobs.
Phyllis and Anna were able to attend the Special Olympics through the "Project Unify Grant" given to Leon County.
