The program, called Kristin's Story, was hosted by Andrea Cooper. Cooper says her daughter Kristin suffered from depression and committed suicide in college, then Cooper and her husband later found out from their daughter's diary that she had been raped.

Kristin's mother has spoken at about 300 universities and conventions across the U.S. to spread rape depression awareness and education. "So many people stuff their feelings after tragedy and that's not healthy, so I want them to understand what's happened, realize they need help, help their friends get counseling, but my goal is to get them to go to counseling." said Cooper.

Wednesday's event organizers say Kristin's Story has been running for more than ten years.
