A standing ovation was given to FAMU Marching 100 director, Doctor Julian White, in the Leon County Commission Chamber Thursday night. The band was recognized for their outstanding representation of their community during the inauguration in January.

Doctor White says this was one of their most meaningful performances ever as the band marched directly in front of the Obama family. "You know we've been to Paris, France, Super Bowls, and 60 minutes, but the historical significance of this occasion I think set it far apart from the rest." said Doctor White.

The Marching '100' says it is currently 420 members strong--and has come a long way since it was founded in 1892.
