More concerns arise over the Gadsden Community Hospital, which the county is working to open in a few months. Tuesday night in Quincy, Gadsden County commissioners discussed Tallahassee Memorial recently pulling out of managing the hospital.

Now, commissioners say they will need to hire health care professionals to manage the hospital soon or else it could run into administrative problems in the near future. The county commission says it hopes to stay in touch with TMH for advice on how to manage their hospital.

Dear most of the crime comes from blacks. Have you been watching the news lately. No where in do history Do i recall ever seeing one black man or Women that has stolen as much money as the White wallstreet executive, Bernie Madoff has. Give me break. The white people can be just as dishonest and usually they do it on a much grander skill. Gadsden county does not need your help. Those baby mamies as you so call them have health insurance and so do thier childeren. Tallahasse took those babie mamies Insurance claims from Gadsden couny and put them into a Leon County hospital computer. They would not have done that if the claims did not have value. So before you start pointing the finger at Gadsden county's dishonesty you might need to take a look at Leon County Dishonest, Don't think being white will make you immune to it. I never met a thief who disciminates. If they are dishonest against one they will be dishonest against all. RETURN OUR CLAIMS SO WE CAN FUND OUR OWN HOSPITAL.

I don't know where you are getting your figures from Martha but Medicaid does not pay minimal. They pay, If they are billed. And your right Gadsden County does have a lot of Medicaid as well as Medicare patients, but make no mistake those two goverement insurance companies makeup two thirds of TMH's insurance revenue. They are not minimal payers but in fact our the two major payers in most Florida Hosptals. There is a lot of money in Gadsden county as far as insurance goes but the claims have to be billed. As far as people with quality insurance going to Tallahassee good luck with that when your three year old child is having an asthma attack dying in your arms while you try to make the 45 minute Commute to Tallahasse. I am glad you have quality health Insurance, But in an emergency it will not do you any good if you live where there is no quality healthcare. Before you start telling other people to think-you need to think.

Leon County has taken Gadsden County Urgent Care claims an put them in their billing system and is refusing to transmit them for payment on the pretense they are testing thier system which works perfectly fine when transmitting out Leon county claims. Gadsden County does not need Leon County to underwrite their welfare cases. Leon County Hospital Finacial Administrators took an estimated quarter of A million dollars worth of revenue fom Gadsden County Urgent care when they took those claims out of thier billing system and put them into Leon county billing system. If you ask me it sounds like Gadsden County is underwriting Leon County welfare cases and by the way I have never met a hospital Finacial Administrator that can not produce a report that shows the value of pending Medicare claims until I met the Leon County Hospital Finacial Aminstrator who now has the Gadsden County Claims in his computer system.

From what Martha is saying, the county dont even have money for furniture. American Freight is cheap. That place dont need nice cushy furniture. It will be destroyed by the patients anyways.

How can this article be in the most comments one minute and gone the next. WCTV is biased when it comes to Gadsden Co. As for the hospital, they are revamping the whole hospital when only a portion of it will be used. The money they are spending on this complete revamping could be used for equipment. And $241,000 for furniture is ridiculous. If they only have the Emergency room, x-ray, lab and business office, that much furniture is not needed. And there is furntiture left from when the hospital was open. You people are NOT financially thinking.

Where do they think they will find Doctors to staff this place? The commission is sinking good money into a very bad investment.
