Representatives from dozens of agencies took part in an annual table top review of emergency strategies at the regional airport. The agencies included local authorities, medical staff, and reps from different airlines.
The airport says it even discussed actual scenarios that could happen and have happened before. Jim Durwin with Airport Operations said, "We have had airplane crashes here or in the vicinity of the airport and having those relationships already established with the key folks--it just makes things go so much smoother when you understand what each other is doing."
The table top drill happens every year and the airport says it will do a live exercise outside in the field every three years.
