On a Friday afternoon, Troopers say sections of I-10 in Leon County would have looked more like Tennessee Street with the old four lane design. The Florida Highway Patrol also says a new median wall stretching from the Thomasville Road exit past the Capital Circle Northwest exit can make enforcement difficult, but they say it is safer overall.

Trooper Nathaniel Gallon said, "The worst accidents were caused because a car lost control and came across the roadway to the other side, so that stopped the head on collisions." In addition to the new median wall, troopers say the larger exits along I-10 help prevent accidents.
