Tallahassee Firefighters' Reactions to Charleston Tragedy
The tragedy in Charleston reminds us how firefighters risk their lives every day. Local firefighters in Tallahassee sympathize with the Charleston Fire Department. We had a chance to get their thoughts and feelings about such a loss.
LT Cody Reese said, "My heart goes out to the families and the firefighters that were involved in South Carolina. It's a tragedy."
LT Brad Deanda added, "We try to take care of ourselves first as much as possible, but as you see, everyday it seems we loose a firefighter some where in the country."
Kevin Washington said, "I feel for the families, the wives, the brothers, sisters, and the kids when this incident happens. And for the department, that's a heavy burden and heavy loss to them. Our heart really goes out to them."
Our hearts here at WCTV also go out to the firefighters lost in Charleston along with their families.
