Hurricane Dennis Two Year Anniversary

By: Ilyssa Trussel Email
Video will be available shortly

Wakulla County residents saw a 12 foot storm surge from Dennis destroying many homes and businesses. It was a story that was put on the back burner because of Hurricane Katrina arriving soon after.

But for people in our area, Dennis was life-changing. Many had difficulty collecting their insurance money. For others, they watched the housing market come to a standstill.

But because the 2006 hurricane season was mild, it allowed many residents and businesses to rebuild and slowly watch the real estate industry rebound.

Today, much of the infrastructure is rebuilt or on its way back to recovery. Today I'll be talking to local residents about the two years since the storm and bring you their reactions tonight on Eyewitness News.
