United Way Partners With the Community Foundation of North Florida

The United Way was able to take about one third of the proceeds from February's Jimmy Buffet concert and use them to establish an endowment. Those funds will be invested and managed by the community foundation to provide support for future projects.

2006 Campaign Chair Susie Busch-Transou said, "It is a result of lots of hard work lots of donations and by so many in the community."

The check for more than $220,000 was handed over to the President of the Community Foundation of North Florida.

United Way says without the Jimmy Buffett benefit fund distribution plan this would not be possible.
