TPD Terrorism Preparedness

The Tallahassee Police Department is part of a regional domestic task force. That's a combination of local, state, and federal authorities who primarily address homeland security in our region.

TPD contributes some of the necessary equipment as well as properly trained personnel to the task force.

Captain Chris Connell, Commander of special investigations and Homeland Security, says those resources are put in to place by all the right players.

He said, "We are placed onto the homeland security initiatives through Washington and we share information both up and down the ladder."

He also says it only takes one time for the extra security to be worth it, which is why they must be ready at all times.
