According to AAA, when temperatures get above 90 and 100 degrees, car breakdowns increase by 50 percent. Common summer car problems include broken air conditioning, weak batteries dying, hoses leaking, and worn belts snapping.

One of the more common problems is tires, which puts you most at risk of having an accident. It is recommended that you get them checked out once a month.

Local tire specialist James Turnage said, "Bring em in and have your tire inspected by your local tire dealer and have them air checked, have them look the inside and the outside because you never know when something is actually going wrong with the tire."

Some tire checkups around town are free and if you know you haven't had an overall check up in a while, it should be done soon.
