Army Stepping Up Recruitment

The Army did not meet recruitment goals for May and June, but today they're expected to announce that they met July's goal.

The Army has a recruiting staff of 8,000 and they will be promoting their Hometown Recruiters Assistance Program to help efforts. It's a program that brings in hometown recruits to share their experiences.

Sgt. Jonathan Denton, a local Army recruiter, said, "This is their home and we go out with them and it's good to have their friends see what they've done in the army and how successful they've been in the United States Army."

The local recruiting office we visited with today has not missed any recent recruiting goals, and another program they're promoting is an incentive that pays referral money to troops who bring a friend or acquaintance into the Army.
