Tallahassee, FL - Three water pipes have burst at a Tallahassee public housing complex in the last 24 hours.

Residents at the Orange Avenue Apartments have suffered damage to their homes and property.

"This is my momma's third time for her house being flooded," said Lacora White. "What should've been said is Miss Davis is there anything I can do to help you with this situation," she said.

White gave an earful to Tallahassee Housing Authority Director Brenda Williams.

Ealier men repaired a burst water pipe near Mary Davis' apartment.

But the damage was already done.

It's the third time Davis' apartment has flooded in two years.

"What you need to do is make a list of your damaged items and we'll turn them over to our insurance company have them to replace them," Williams told White and Davis.

Davis says it's not just her apartment.

She showed Williams the flooded walkway to her apartment.

"When it rains, I can't get in," said Davis. "I have to come around," she said. "Every time it rains it does that," Davis told Williams.

"Well we'll take care of that as well," Williams replied.

Mary Davis isn't alone.

Across the lawn we found another apartment where tile is being replaced after flooding earlier this week.

Personal belongings were in stacks.

And Rosevelt Anderson woke up to water leaking from his bathroom into his bedroom.

"I think they need to get out and get 'em fixed and fix them up right, instead of trying to patch up old stuff," said Anderson.

"The pipes are very old and they break from time to time and we're doing our best to keep up with the breaks as much as we can," said Williams.

"Residents got to speak up at the tenant meetings, also to address these issues," said resident Stella Thomas. "They just can't sit back and let it happen," she said.

Williams says there are plans to re-develop the roughly 45 year old complex.

She says they may include new pipes and apartments.

However, she says it would likely take 4 or 5 years to complete.
