Bainbridge Unveils New "Mega Ramps"

With the help of Governor Sonny Perdue, Bainbridge officially opened 3 "mega ramps" in its Boat Basin by the KOA Campgrounds.

The double-wide ramps will allow more water enthusiasts to load their boats into the water at once.

Officials say they are thrilled about the new launch ramps.

The new ramps were built with four-hundred thousand dollars allocated by the state of Georgia under Governor Perdue's "Go Fish Georgia" initiative; Bainbridge residents also voted to match that sum using a special purpose sales tax.

Already, the new mega ramps are having a positive impact on the Bainbridge economy: the city has 3 major bass fishing tournaments scheduled for October that will draw over 1,000 fishermen to the area.
