Learning healthy habits will improve your quality of life.
That's the message pushed Saturday at the third annual women's wellness day.
The event hosted by Capital Regional Medical Center features health screenings, speeches, vendors and advice from physicians.
The event was capped off with keynote speaker Hannah Curlee. If the name sounds familiar, it's because she was the runner-up for season eleven on The Biggest Loser.
Curlee lost 120 pounds on the show and shared her message today.
"My advice for someone trying to lose weight is you have to make a first step. Whether that's cleaning out your pantry today, you can't wait until tomorrow you can't wait until next week, you got to do something now. If you're ready, if you're truly ready, you'll do something now," she said.
Curlee also spoke about her amazing experience on The Biggest Loser viewed by millions of people.
"The producers, the show, the cast, everyone, the camera guys, the people that serve the food, everybody becomes your family. You have this instant support system and you literally learn how to climb mountains in your life on that show and I know it looks like a tv show but it really is like a life change camp."
