The southern Georgia bird dog trials held at Seminole Plantation this weekend brought area farms and plantations together in friendly competition.
Says Seminole Plantation's manager, Wallace Reed,"We had about 100, 150 people show out on horseback and ride along, and watch the dogs perform. We've got two judges who come and judge the dogs for two days and see who's the best."
The plantations in south Georgia hold trials for different breeds of dogs that have already proven themselves in the field.
There are also competitions for young dogs, under two years old.
These 'derbies' test the developing skills and obedience of pups while they're still learning to track and point.
