Tallahassee, FL - A local non-profit organization holds their second annual rally at the old capitol today To support evidence based care for all moms and babies.
Angela Meredith, Rally organizer: "We're actually just trying to raise awareness like I said to the public and to woman and families and let them know that evidence based care is an important element to improving maternity care right now. "
This was the second annual event held in Tallahassee and they're already seeing the grass roots movement grow.
Improvingbirth.org says 9 out of 10 women in America receive maternity care that actually increases risk to them and their babies.
The national non-profit group gives mothers the opportunity to ask questions about child birth. Their main focus is to bring evidence based care, empower and to educate mothers.
Christy Baldwin, Participant: "I felt a little bit out of control for my first birth and I wanted to make sure that I was more in control with my subsequent births at that point. I did a lot of talking, I talked to moms. "
