Costco employees at the Tallahassee store raised money for three store officials to donate to the Wakulla County Coalition for Youth Christmas Program Wednesday, Dec. 22 and help a less fortunate family in Wakulla County.
The Crawfordville family includes a mother and father and seven children. Costco Manager Tom Burns was accompanied by Kimberly Crowe and Mark Hern, a.k.a. Santa Claus. They presented a truckload of gifts to Wakulla Coalition for Youth President Lt. Bruce Ashley at the sheriff’s office shortly before driving to the home of the family and distributing the gifts. Turkeys were also donated to the family so they can have a Christmas meal.
“Everyone jumped on board,” said Manager Burns. “It sure makes a difference at the holidays.” Kimberly Crowe added that having the opportunity to purchase gifts for the children was rewarding for her.
“We have really had an outpouring of support,” said Lt. Ashley of the coalition’s Christmas project. “I was just overwhelmed.”
