Terry Clark and Todd Presley share two things in common: both have called Colquitt County home for years, and each claims to be the best man to serve as District 3 Commissioner.
"I have 4 years' experience, I own a farm, [and I'm] able to set budgets," says Clark.
Presley stated,"Right now I work for the state, so I understand how state and county budgets, [and] all that, work."
Incumbent Clark says the biggest challenges facing the county are budget cuts, while opponent Presley says he thinks it is representing district residents equally.
While both men profess a deep love for their county, each has taken a very different road when it comes to his political career.
Clark's grandfather served in the House of Representatives in the 1940's, and his uncle was commissioner of District 3 before he was elected to the seat four years ago. Clark says he has "really enjoyed" the four years he has spent in office thus far, and that he "love[s] politics."
Presley says the twenty years he's spent in the county and state government have given him the opportunity to study District 3's spending habits, which, he says, put money in the wrong places sometimes
Now, each of the two opponents is asking for the support of the community to pick him for their district's commissioner seat on November 2nd.
"I just believe I'm the best qualified for the position right now," Clark tells us.
Says Presley,"Elect me, and anytime they have a need, no matter how great or how small, and I'll be there...because I think that's what the taxpayers of Colquitt County are ready for."
Both candidates say they will be dedicated to the commissioner's position if elected.
