Tallahassee, FL - Community invited to take a Greenway Hayride Tour.
Free event will also feature demonstrations, children’s activities
Leon County invites the community to take part in Florida’s Greenways
and Trails Month by attending the 2010 Greenway Tour this Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the J.R. Alford Greenway, 2500 S. Pedrick Road.
Residents can enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, demonstrations, children’s
activities and hayride tours of the vast greenways available to hikers,
cyclists, equestrians and general recreationists throughout the year.
Leon County’s greenways previously won an Outstanding Accomplishment Award for Environmental/Conservation Facilities from the National Association of Counties (NACo), which garnered the County nationwide recognition.
Dedicated professionals at the Leon County Division of Parks and
Recreation are working hard to bring back a complete ecosystem of plants and animals native to the area, and these tours of the greenway system will help residents appreciate the scenic vistas and local places of historic and cultural significance.
