Cupcakes were selling like hot cakes at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital today.
This bake sale is helping to raise money for typhoon relief efforts in the Phillipines.
The TMH foundation is matching sales dollar for dollar so these three dollar cupcakes will mean six dollars toward food, water and shelter in hard hit cities like Tacloban.
Nurse manager Sharon Solis grew up there. Her family survived but lost everything.
It took her a week to reach her father. "Their home is gone, but that's the most important thing is they're alive. That they're okay. They're just, you know, rationing food over there."
"We know of some co-workers that have lost family members and we know of quite a few co-workers who've lost all of their possessions at home," said nurse Karl Cousineau who helped to organize the bake sale.
Cousineau says the bake sale raised $1700. That will be doubled to $3400 and donated to the Red Cross for relief efforts in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan.
