It was a night of talent and glamor for seven children as they competed in the first annual Little Miss and Mr. Bond Elementary School pageant.

The second through 5th grade students danced, played musical instruments and even impersonated celebrities.

Candidate Curtis Richardson emceed the event while the judges scored the contestants on communication skills, talent, appearance and achievements.

"I'm really excited, it's like really fun and it's fun to practice and stuff," said Javonya Peterson.

The winners will receive a crown and will attend FAMU's homecoming convocation as well as attend leadership seminars in the future.

The female winner was 8-year-old Aniya Koonce who played classical violin and the male winner was 7-year-old Lawrence Steed III who played the African drums and sang an African folk song.
