Florida Gear-Up and FAMU are coming together to expose area children to a world where they can create and learn.

Throughout the summer program, kids take classes with FAMU professors. Then the kids get to proudly show off their projects.

They've built rockets, hot air balloons and robots. This is the second year of the program.

It's free and children who quailfy can sign up at their participating school.

Unfortunately, in America today, a picture of a Black child is perceived as the epitome of Low Income or impoverishment.
