The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host a public information meeting concerning upcoming construction on State Road 263 (S.R. 263) (Capital Circle Northwest) in Leon County. The meeting will be held Thursday, December 16, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. (EST), at Northwoods Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 3762 Capital Circle NW, Tallahassee, Florida.

Work to resurface a 3-mile stretch of Capital Circle Northwest (CCNW) from I-10 to S.R. 63 begins the week of January 3, 2011. Improvements include: resurfacing, minor sidewalk improvements on the west side of CCNW near Tower Road, new signage, pavement markings and signalization upgrades. Capital Circle at the CSX Railroad crossing will be closed for approximately one week in January 2011 to replace the crossing. Through traffic will use Fred George Road and S.R. 63 (U.S. 27) as a detour route. Lane closures will be minimized during peak traffic times. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Peavy & Son Construction is the contractor for the $1,284,523.45, 115-day construction contract.
