Tallahassee, FL – March 29, 2011 --
The Tallahassee Chapter of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) today announced its partnership with Cone Distributors, The Seminole Boosters, Florida State University, IMG, Visit Tallahassee, and ESPN to create an unforgettable Spring Game experience.
Tallahassee will roll out the garnet and gold carpet for the three day event, being held Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16 and will give FSU football fans everywhere the chance to show their Seminole pride in advance of the 2011 season. All events are free unless otherwise noted. Volunteer donations are accepted for the FSU Annual Scholarship Fund and Athletic Fund.
“This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Tallahassee hoteliers and restaurateurs, and marks the first time the FSU Spring football game will be carried live to a national audience,” said Marc Bauer, president of FRLA’s Tallahassee Chapter. “The partnerships created for this event allows local, state and national fans to enjoy the capital city with incredible events, and restaurant and hotel specials. This is a weekend Seminole fans are not going to want to miss,” continued Bauer, who is the general manager of Hotel Duval.
Events kick-off Thursday night with Capitol City Beerfest – a craft beer tasting at the University Center. There will be a downtown block party and music fest Friday night, with former Seminole and RCA Nashville recording artist Jake Owen in concert. The celebration culminates Saturday with a pregame music concert and the 4th Annual BBQ Cook-off, followed by the renowned Garnet & Gold Spring Game.
